³¹ However, many in the crowd believed in him. They kept saying, “When the Messiah^[a] comes, he won’t do more signs than this man has done, will he?”

Officers are Sent to Arrest Jesus

³² The Pharisees heard the crowd debating these things about him, so the high priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest Jesus.^[b]

³³ Then Jesus said, “I’ll be with you only a little while longer, and then I’m going back to the one who sent me.
